Actually, you can disassemble the scanner bin to put in a pack back or brief case. I just did it and it is rather easy. The issue will be to keep the binder clip that holds it together when folded like when it arrives in the mail. Since it is heavy duty cardboard, it can probably take a good number of disassembly and reassembly sessions. Practicality is probably in the mind of the beholder, but since the scanner bin is basically a box lying on its side for scanning, it is less likely to get flipped over with a slight bump than the Fopydo stand.
Portability, the Fopydo stand is probably a little easier and being made out of corrugated plastic, probably a bit longer lasting; but not as solid when sitting on a desk/table.
