What is it that people get that replaces or repairs their phones? I know two people, who vie for the world championship screen crackers; they have some kind of insurance. I figure for as much as it costs, I'm better off taking chances. I'm ahead now.

If that's the case, it won't end at a specific time. If it is Apple Care, maybe your carrier offers an insurance plan you can use after it ends.
