Hopefully, everybody else on this list already knows this, but I post this just in case. Being that I use VoiceOver, I have often wished that I could get rid of all the text on the screen, I don't really need it, and too often, when looking for the play button, I touch text and it moves the cursor to that point. Also, when I tried to read by word or line, it would do fine until it got to the end of the screen, then sometimes seemed to get confused. Go into advanced visual settings, and change it so that only one line of text appears on the screen. This way, you can turn the rotor to characters, words, or lines, and read by that amount if needed, such as in a poem or recipe, or it will read continuously with the play button. To get this to work, you first have to touch the single line of text on the screen, it will say text and read the line. Sometimes, you have to swipe around a bit to find this line, it is there. Also, the selecting and manipulating text now works quite well. Put the cursor before the first word you wish to select, then follow the voice dream directions.
