There is excellent navigation using the Kindle app for iPHONE or iPAD. You can swipe with three fingers to move through pages. Alternatively, you can double tap on the book and gain access to the menu. Go into the navigation drawer and you'll find the table of contents which you can flick left and right through. Double tap on the chapter you want. It doesn't get much easier than that given the basic objective of giving all of the screen to the book you're reading.
Kingle offers other advantages which many fail to discover. These include the x-ray view which can act as a kind of interactive Cliff's notes for a book. You can look up information about characters, terms and concepts in a book. Also, there's the built in dictionary making it easy to look up definitions while reading without needing to leave the app. Hope this is helpful to people.
