To add to that, and to reduce the clutter on the messages screen, if when you find the icon for Apps, if it says "visible" double tap so it says hidden. Then, after the second button, there will be nothing, instead of all the various apps you can use in messages, frankly, I find all that just reduces the available screen for reading messages. You can always double tap again on Apps to make all those things visible again.
