If you have a newer phone without a Home button, then tap to wake will wake the screen each time you touch it, which can be annoying especially if the phone is in your pocket. Not sure if it is on older phones like the 7 or 8. I suppose some may want to see their notifications by touching their phone screen but I don't need that, and it can drain the battery with constant triggers.
