I'm not sure what you mean by easier, but prior to IOS 14, they added the ability to put the audio destination in the roter. I find this pretty easy, but I just find it kind of hit and miss with my devices. It works fine on my JVL speaker but it doesn't work at all when I use my Google Homes as a Bluetooth speaker.
