If it doesn't come up talking right away, press the home button and it
should ask for your password if the phone is up and running.

I am having trouble getting my Iphone 8SE to start. I don’t know how
long to hold the on/off button to get it to start. I am a total, and I
cannot tell when the screen llights. Up.
I dread having to turn it off.
