I believe Downcast would also fit the bill. In all cases you need to go into the settings for the app and make the changes to have this happen rather than having the podcastsdownloaded. Sometimes, the settings are found in a "more" tab or other place right in the app. Other times such as with the native Podcasts app from Apple, the settings are in the Settings app for all settings on your device. Pretty much any podcasts app should be able to notify you and make sounds when new podcasts are available. Not all podcast apps offer the same range of capabilities. I use one called Castro which is supported by a subscription for unlocking all features. For me, it has proved well worth paying for. Before learning about Castro, I was very happy with Downcast and Overcast. Both are excellent apps. Even the Podcasts app which comes with iOS isnt bad once you get the settings customized. There are simply better alternatives for podcast enthusiasts.
