I don't much care for this method of powering down my phone. Hold down the side button and the volume down button at the same time. The S O S will show. Swipe to left of the S O S pop up and it will say slide to shut down. Just tap on that and phone will power down. I usually cause my phone to turn on by just plugging in the power cord. drew
