There are just those times when I don't need to hold the phone up to my face, like when I'm lying down or sitting at a table. My hand is already on the phone, since I have to touch the screen to interact with it, so it would be no big deal to use touch ID. With face ID though, I have to remember to then hold it up to my face, and since I didn't do it immediately, I may have to do it more then once or just resort to entering my PIN.
