Hi here's how someone described it to me, hope its clear. A widget is a small icon that you place on your home page to get the information you need that updates all the time. For instance, I have my calendar widget and my weather widget on my home screen so I can flick to either widget and get real time information. My weather one gives me the current temperature as well as the high and low. My calendar gives me my next event. If I need more detail, I can double tap on the widget and it opens the app. Very practical for things you check quite often. Note that not all apps yet have a widget but they will come soon. I am thinking of putting my Parcel widget there so I can track my parcels location in real time. The thing you have to remember is that adding widgets to your home screen will need space so they will push the apps at the bottom of your screen to the next page.
