Are you on iOS 14?
If so, page 1 is now back to being the main home screen.
When you do the 3 finger swipe left to right, you are on the Today screen or
whatever you want to call it where some default widgets show up.
To remove a Widget, swipe to the very bottom of that screen and double tap on
Edit.
Then, again swipe to the bottom and double tap on customize.
Then, when you touch a widget you wish to remove, flick down with one finger
until you hear Remove and double tap.
It is now gone from that screen.

Subject: Re: What exactly is a widget?

Hello everyone,

Thank you to all who responded to my questions. I really appreciate the help.
This has helped me to understand more what wigits are, and how they work.

I don't plan to use them. I don't have any vision at all. While I can see how
they would be helpful for some people, I think they would just frustrate me.

Also, what I was calling my main home screen, is the today screen. I wasn't
realizing that's what it was. So I was saying my main home screen.

On the today screen, I can see several different wigits. I think one is
for maps. But one is for my battery status.

I was wondering, can I remove wigits? Is this possible?

Or can I somehow make my today screen look differently, still showing
what I need, but without wigits?

Thank you all again for the help. This list really is a big help to me.
I do try to Google stuff at times. But as much as I know it can be
frustrating for some, it's easier just to ask here, and get responses
from others.

Thank you,

Terri
