Absolutely true, everybody decides how they want to do something, but I am just saying that if pretty much all you want to do is to transfer ringtones to your phone then iTunes will do this and it is not a very difficult task. As for iTunes not transferring ringtones, I have not experienced this before. But I also admit that I'm not crazy about ringtones to the point where I have hundreds on my phone, I made a few from songs I like using iTunes and I maybe have 10 or 20 short tones for things like texts, emails and other notifications which I found over the years and like.

Also, assuming it is legal for you to do so, Waltr2 will allow you to transfer tones to friend’s iPhones without the complications that iTunes impose.
