Hello, I have the camera set to While Using as you describe Richard.
I have tried every configuration I can think of but to no avail. If I use EXIF Editor, Seeing AI and TapTapSee to browse photos I get the information I would expect. But the Photos app is a complete disaster on my iPhone XR. I’ve even set it up as a new iPhone rather than restoring from a backup but still no luck.
