iOS and font sizes are a mystery to me. I’ve never gotten any information about the actual font size unless I didn’t want it, like in Notes, it chatters on about the font and font size when I just want to edit, etc.
I’d try increasing the page size and have your wife see if it is changing the font enough to be of use.
