Hi Terri, I would suggest turning on iCloud Keychain on your phone if it's not on already. Then go to appleid.apple.com <http://appleid.apple.com/> on your phone, log in, and choose to save your password.
Now when you are asked to log in on the watch, there should be a Passwords option. Choose it, and then use the digital crown to scroll through until you find the password for apple.com <http://apple.com/> or appleid.apple.com <http://appleid.apple.com/> and select it.
