Yes,
I get software updates on a regular basis.
I’ve had the Eero system for about 3 months and love it.
But, back to the original poster. I think you would be better off with a
separate modem and router. I suspect that if your existing modem is a router
and modem in one then it is overdue for replacement Separate units give you
more flexibility going forward.
Another note, I was using a time capsule for my router and though old it was
doing pretty well. I have however added a lot of wifi devices and it was
starting to fail. The new Eero Mesh system was easy to set up and when working
is rock solid. Everything works more responsibly and more reliably and covers
a much larger space. The three unit system is the one I purchased. It is
working well with a two year old Netgear modem.
