I've tried the Walgreens app for reminding me of a once a week med, and after a period of time, it stopped working with the reminder I set. I have gone into the app and pulled up the reminder, and it is there but it did not work. Or, perhaps it worked again for a few weeks and then it would stop again. I'm not usually one to recommend the native apps, but I have found setting reminders to be very reliable. I use Fantastical II to set the reminder, but this would likely work the same way in the native Reminders app. I haven't missed a dose yet by the weekly reminders. Once I mark the task/reminder as complete, it disappears from the current week and it shows up for the next week as a to-do task. I'm pretty good about taking daily meds, but needed a reminder for this once a week medication. Your mileage may vary.
