iPhones have an expiration date. to make your money go as far as
possible, by the latest model soon after it comes out and hang onto it
for a long time. I bought my iPhone 7 in October 2016. If 2021 will be
the last year it will receive a full iOS update, then I will have had
a fully updated and functional device for six years. Few companies in
the technology industry continue to support devices for this long. I
have not changed the battery and it still lasts for a day of use. I
am actually looking forward to a mini iPhone when I replace my 7.
The market for used or refurbished iPhones is pretty robust. They sell
for a lot less than what they did a few years ago because of all the
discounting, rebates and payment plans for new iPhones.
