I have never had a keyboard paired with my phone braille or bluetooth. Yet I
have this vanishing keyboard issue several times a week. Apple Accessibility
has tried a variety of fixes and even accused me of having an unknown keyboard
in the house that was interfereing with my phone. They actually told me someone
else in the house might have a braille or bluetooth keyboard in the house that
was messing with my phone. I was home alone at the time. And had bluetooth
turned off and had rebooted the phone and had reset the phone in settings.
What I have discovered is that most times if I turn off bluetooth then reboot
the phone then turn on bluetooth that the keyboard will become visible again.
This is a solid reboot and not just turning off the phone. If that does not
work I sometimes can go into messages and into search and dictate and just act
like I am dictating. Once the keyboard comes up I can cancel out of the search
and the keyboard stays visible.
This bug is more frequent than people realize and is easily googled. Apple
really needs to address it as it was present even when I had my 8+ and still
gives me issues on the 12 Pro Max.
