Okay, I have the new update it does not appear to make any radical changes. I cannot say for certain because I just opened the player thus far it looks fairly similar to the old interface. There appears to be a few changes in the area of selecting what stations you are going to have in your list, but thus far I think those changes make the app better for a voice over user.
