Hello,

I had the same problem and so try to login using the website. I didn’t realize 
I had a missed type in my email address. which meant I couldn’t verify my 
account that way either.   They are owned by PayPal and I don’t remember ever 
having a Venmo account with my phone number, but did have PayPal. So I wonder 
if that could be your problem? I contacted support and they resolved it for me. 
So, my best advice is to contact support to find out what is going on.
