Oh yes quite a bit larger, and yes they do cover your ears but they are very gentle about it, not muffling the sound much at all. They are also quite heavy, but you never know it because they are so comfortable. I don’t think it would be very good for them, but in a confrontational situation, I think you could snatch them off and use them as a weapon and knock somebody in the back of the head with them. I’ll kidding aside, they are quite a different beast then the other AirPods
