Hi Andy, I think that tinny sound is just because you are getting the higher frequencies from outside. I find I can live with it because it reduces, if not removes, that sense of pressure. But, of course, all this is personal preference/comfort. I think you may be able to play some with the EQ that might help when noise cancelation is on. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I have not heard anything that sounded this good in a headphone. Enjoy,
