Here's another way to find the top. Once the QardioArm is partly or completely open, if you slide your finger in between the rectangular piece and the lining of the cuff, one end will have nothing on it and the other will have a clearly felt button. This is the button to remove the batteries. The button should be toward the top of your arm, closest to your shoulder. Let me know if this is not clear.
