This has gotten worse I think in 14.5, but I cannot be sure. I'd remove MBraille from the third party keyboards, try the notes app again. And make sure describe images, and all that new stuff is off. Then add MBraille back and see if it clears up.

Today I tried to create a note using the native notes app. When I went to the new note text field I heard “keyboard reset.” Whereever I touched on the screen it simply said “direct touch area” and I couldn’t use the keyboard at all. I usually use M–Braille when writing, so I assumed that I was automatically put into M–Braille, but I still couldn’t write into the text field. Later I tried using my focus to create the note and that worked. I also tried using SIRI to dictate and that worked, but I can do nothing on the screen, either with the M–Braille app, or by trying to close M–Braille and use the onscreen keyboard. Anyone have any ideas why and maybe a solution. Granted, it isn’t crucial since there is a way around the problem. I haven’t seen this behavior in any other apps. Very odd.
