I found Apple Maps offers preferable directions on highway exits and rapid transit entrances that Google Maps does not recognize. Also, Apple Maps can send updated notifications or text messages on an estimated time of arrival to anyone in the user’s contacts. Google Maps just sends a notification or e-mail once without updated timeframes.
