Okay, I looked this up. I don't know if this will help, but here are the steps.
You probably know them already but I'm wondering if you ever did the step where
you tell it to pair if it doesn't initiate the pairing process. Also here is
the tech support number at the end of the two sets of steps. The first part was
just registration so I didn't include that. Even if you think it was trying to
pair, it may not hurt to try this; from your description of telling you a phone
wasn't found it sounds to me like it might have not actually gone through
pairing.

Pairing Your BlueAnt
Step 2: Activate Pairing Mode on the Q2
        1. If the Q2 is not switched on, turn it on by sliding across the
power switch on the back of the Q2.
        2. Put the Q2 in your ear.
        3. If this is the first time you have used the Q2 it will go
straight to pairing mode, and you will hear the voice prompts start to talk you
through the process. If this doesn't happen, click the Multi-Function Button,
wait for the Q2 to ask you to "Say A Command", and then say "Pair Me".
        4. If you have a phone connected, the Q2 will remind you that your
phone is connected and ask you if you want to enter pairing mode. Say "Yes".
        5. The Q2 will tell you that it is now in pairing mode, and start
to talk you through the pairing process.
You now need to activate Bluetooth on your phone, and use your phone's
Bluetooth menu to search for devices.
Step 3: Select Your Phone

Step 4: Apple iPhone
Now you need to use your iPhone to search for Bluetooth devices:
        1. Select Settings.
        2. Select General.
        3. Select Bluetooth.
        4. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your
BlueAnt device from the list.
        5. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).
        6. Select Connect.
Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

For some reason, it seems that your blue tooth isn’t in paring mode, or that
the phone isn’t recognizing it. If it is in paring mode, the phone would
automatically recognize it once you went into the blue tooth settings.

I asked about this a few days ago.
I have the Iphone 4 and I recently purchased the Blue Ant q2 blue tooth
earphone. I should point out that I already have another bluetooth earphone
but, I thought I might like this one better because it actually stays where I
put it. The other one keeps falling off my ear. Anyway, I tried to pair with
my phone and I just can't get it to happen. Is there a limit to the number of
bluetooth devices that can be paired with the phone? When I go into the
bluetooth area in "settings", there doesn't seem to be any way to add a new
device and the q2 doesn't show up there. I have taken out the other
bluetooth earphone but, that didn't seem to make a difference. I listened to
some instructions on the Blue Ant site and it would seem that I should be able
to pair quite easily. But, after a few minutes, I get a message that says that
no phone is found and to be sure "bluetooth" is enabled. It is. I've
disabled and enabled again just to be sure. I hope someone can get me sorted
out. Thanks.
