Thank you, Don and Mary, for the information on Car Mode. Actually, I just discovered that if I move my finger slowly down from the Car Mode button, I'll reach the Search bar. I can activate this area without entering Car Mode. Why the Search bar doesn't show up using a right flick I don't know.
