I’m not sure how much this will open up the video conferencing world since there are already so many options to choose from. Also, as a blind person, I find using an application is generally preferable over using the web interface, so I’m a bit skeptical of joining a Facetime video conference through my browser on Windows or Android.

Here is one little snippet from the web about it. Apple is also adding the ability to share links to FaceTime calls, putting the company in a better position to compete with the likes of Zoom. FaceTime Links will allow for users across both the iOS and Android ecosystems to join the same call. Windows and Mac users can also jump into calls through their desktops.
