Well, much to my embarrassment my problem was the mute switch. I did not purposefully mute the phone so will have to blame it on the cats. I will certainly remember to check that in future.

I got no prompt for do you want to send. I found the send button but tapping it did nothing. I tried turning the phone off & back on but no change. Any ideas as to what is going on & how I can fix?
