Hmm,
I have just updated my FB app, and I'm not experiencing this issue... I wonder
if it is due to my iPhone model. I have a SE 2nd generation.

How do you make the scrub gesture? Is it as simple as it sounds we just put two
fingers on the screen and scrub it back-and-forth side to side?
