For now a work-around would be to use a headset since I assume if you plug in a headset or use a Bluetooth headset that they would play there? Sorry, don't have any voice messages in Facebook to test it with.

I’ve even wrote a review in the App Store and tried reporting the bug to them on Twitter. No response what soever. I also know at least one or two blind users who are dealing with the same issue when listening to voice messages on Messenger.
