They also said that much of that functionality would still be available via Shortcuts as long as the app developer implements it. I, for example, use the Alarm.com app for the alarm system at my business. There is no SIRI support like for example with the Philips Hue app for controlling lights where I can just say turn on such and such room or even such and such light bulb in a lamp which has 2 or 3 bulbs. But you can enable SIRI shortcuts for things like setting the alarm, disarming, locking and unlocking the door (if you have a smart lock which is compatible etc. You just have to enable the shortcut and select the phrase you ant to use. Uber or Lyft could do the same thing if they decide they want to offer customers the ability to use SIRI to order a ride.
