I don't find the follow my iPhone setting any more, but this could be me and not the fact that it isn't there anymore. This predates special audio. I turned this off because as I'm wondering around the house, I don't need the audio to appear as if it's coming from my iPhone, since I'm not actually looking at the video on my phone. I'd assume you would not need to turn this on to work with special audio, but you could test it to make sure.
