When I transferred data from my iphone 6 to this one, I was given the option of using the camera to scan the code, or type in a code which appeared on one phone onto the other one. Have they done away with the entering the code method? If so, that is unfortunate. I thought it unlikely that I could align it properly being totally blind, and I got the impression it had to be done properly the first time or that was too bad.

I am not sure why this isn't working for you or where you may be missing a step, when I did it for my iPhone 11 and my wife's 11 Pro it was quite clear although it may take a bit of trial and error to line up the code you have to scan. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of doug parisian Sent: August 27, 2021 6:04 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Transferring from Iphone 8 to Iphone XR Sieghard, As mentioned earlier, I've set up several Iphones but never had one which used the contact message. On my Iphone 8, I purposefully changed the setting in camera from Video to Photo when the first contact didn't work, assuming it might have been the Video setting. Nothing changed when I set it to Photo so that wasn't the problem. My first attempt might have been sloppy as the Swiping instead of the button is new to me. I now have it practised and mastered. Having accomplished this mastery, I decided to try again after starting from scratch and setting up the XR as a new phone; still no luck. If one only gets one chance despite starting from scratch, I consider this a serious bug.
