Don't you use Dropbox or OneDrive? That would be a much easier way especially to get them onto a PC, just enable camera roll in either Dropbox or OneDrive and all your photos magically appear on your PC and if you want you can still move them out of the Dropbox or OneDrive folder especially if you use the free versions and have limited space.
