Containers are areas on the screen, on an iPad the left and right windows are separate containers as is the dock and the main home screen. I am pretty sure by default containers is in the rotor, just go to it and then flick left or right.

When in settings, the main settings list is on the left, whatever is selected there, will show up on the right hapf of the screen.
