For me, it puts VoiceOver onto the little speaker at the top of the phone, and very quietly. If I have a bluetooth earphone in, it switches to the phone speaker again very quietly. If I bring up the Control Center, and select media destination, and pick Speaker, it comes out loudly on the phone speaker, but bluetooth earphones are simply not an option. This will be good to do a screen recording of and sending to Apple, though they will turn it back onto Amazon no doubt. I've not tried it with wired earphones.
