The LG TV has a built in screenreader, but I only played around with it for a
few minutes when we first got it since I really have no need to use it.

So does your lg tv have a screen reader built in to let you know where you are
on the menus etc?

Or you just let the wife drive those things?

And yeah the sonos app advises you to turn off the tv audio and set it as the
sonos audio only.

As I just posted, we bought an LG TV pretty much exactly a year ago and have no
issues with the TV and the Arc, but my wife did have to go into the TV settings
because by default after we hooked up the soundbar it was set for audio to come
from the external connection (the soundbar) and the internal TV speakers, but
once that was done all has been good. I spend quite a bit of time reading about
the slightly higher-end OLED TV's last year and more less had narrowed it down
to this LG and a Sony model, but the LG I felt had slightly better specs and
reviews and we have been very happy with it although I guess I should say my
wife has because I just benefit from the audio and it comes from the Arc. I
only briefly played around with the screenreader which is part of the LG Web OS
platform and I didn't really learn how to use it, but it seemed OK. One thing
the sales person at our local electronics store said was that he felt LG's Web
OS platform was more user friendly than some of the Android ones and this TV
has pretty much everything from Netflix, Disney and Amazon Prime to Apple TV
built in and we haven't used our Apple TV since we had the TV. But as I
mentioned, I only watch TV with my wife so she always does the driving so to
speak and all I find useful is to know how to do Play/Pause and turn the volume
up and down which on the LG remote are nicely shaped buttons in the shape of a
Plus and Minus symbol, but of course when I sit on our couch I just have to
reach out with my right arm to where the Sonos SL is mounted on the wall and I
can use it to turn the volume up or down as well.

The Sonos app is completely accessible.

If you can afford the roughly $650 for the Arc, (and have room for it) give it
a try. It has Alexa or Google Assistant if one wants it, and it sounds amazing.

IN fact, I would call Sonos and talk with them about issues that may be present
with LG and see if they have a solution.

Soundbars range in price from the cheapest in quality and sound at about $99 to
the best in quality and sound upwards of hundreds of dollars to a thousand or
more. The Sonus ARC is quite pricey but most likely worth the cost if you
choose to pay that amount. I've not heard the Sonus Beam but people claim it's
quite good as well at a price tag of about $400. I'm looking at various models
of soundbars comparing various features ... but I'm very interested in how the
apps are accessible. I've got a LG TV and I find the LG apps less than
accessible. And, although I'd prefer the Sonus product ... I've read where the
Beam tends to have issues working properly with the LG OLED TV sound output.
Therefore, I'm also looking at Bose and Samsung soundbars but avoiding LG due
to their app issues. As a side note ... most lower quality soundbars or cheap
ones don't often work with Alexa. Working together with Alexa is a must for me.
I'm all about making my home smarter.
