I would have recommended File Browser up until about a week ago. Something happened--an update or something--and now I cannot open any remote share. Ex.: I have a network-attached storage system from Synology which holds--well--a lotta stuff. I had it connected to my iPhone 12 Pro Max quite successfully all summer, after replacing my 10S with it. Then, just last week, I opened File Browser to get something from that NAS, and I couldn't open the share. Thinking I did something wrong and broke the NAS share, I tried it on a Windows system also connected to the same network with the same results--I could show the shares, of which there are two, but I could not open them.

I then tried the same things with the native iOS Files application, and all shares opened correctly. This made me very happy, indicating there was nothing wrong with my network, my NAS, or my Windows system, and at the same time, very sad, because I really like the File Browser interface better than that of the native Files application. After all, that's why I bought File Browser.

So what's up with File Browser on network-atached shares? I don't know, but I suspect I'll be trying to contact the developer to find out.

hi,
I am increasingly frustrated with using the Files app for accessing my iCloud

on this list have experience with this app? Is it recommended?
Thanks in advance. Keith
