Hi, I find the Open Comm head band to be very comfortable, more so than the band on my Trex Titanium. Just how flexible it is I can't say for sure as I did not need to try to alter it.
I think the microphone does deliver a better result than other models. It is at the end of a pivoting boom arm and thus is closer to your mouth. The boom arm also contains a secondd microphone which is used to do some noise cancellation functions. This really helps deliver a clear vocal input signal when you are in a loud or noisy environment.
