Hi Richard. I will go with the talking time you mentioned. No, the Apple rep did not say anything about maximum announcements. I can live with on the hour and half hour and hope that more announcements are added in the future. I didn't realize that announcing the time as often as it did would be so beneficial to me. Thank you for suggesting this app and I will go through the settings as you mentioned. You are so very helpful for this group. p.s. I am still working to purchase the Orbit 40 sometime soon. I am looking to get a 12 month plan with a credit card. I know that PayPal has 6 months and will go with that if I can't find anything else. Andy and Leroy

The app called, Talking time, $1.99 can only give up to 64 announcements per 24 hours. If you only did hour and half hour, that would be 48, so you would be safe. There is a new release coming soon. I have been working with the developer. He is quite keen to make it fully accessible and is adding some nice new features. If you decide to go with Talking Time, here are the settings you want under notifications for Talking Time. Allow Notifications on. Under Alerts Heading: Make sure nothing is selected, so Allow on lock screen, Allow in notifications center, and Allow as Banner, are not selected. Sounds On. Under the Announce heading: Announce notifications off. Lock Screen Appearance heading: Show Previews, never. Notification Grouping, Off. There are a limited number of voices available from Apple, but good enough. The app works when you take it out of the app switcher, and takes next to no power since it only uses power when it makes the announcement. LaPointe Sent: Saturday, December 11, 2021 12:33 PM To: [email protected] Subject: talking time app Hello All, can someone suggest a talking time app for the iphone using ios 15.1 with these 2020? I did everything I could to get my app to speak the time every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. I spent a good hour with the Apple disability Desk and the rep said that all the settings are good. There are a few apps that cost between $1.99 to $4.95. I have no problem spending a bit of money so I can hear the time go off every 15 minutes all day and night. It is so very helpful for this to happen to me. Ever since I updated to IOS 15.1, the app does not speak at all. I am currently using the speaking clock and also had Chime. Chime when searched in the App store comes up with some banking, financial and some other descriptions other than time. I don't remember if it was under another name. Is there anyone else using an app that announces even on the hour or half hour? Thanks so much. Andy and Leroy Andrew J.
