I'd agree with tom's comments. My low vision students have generally liked the landscape mode. But as a VO user, i've never seen any advantage for it. The one exception might be in any browser, I like the way it lays things out in landscape mode for the browser. but otherwise, I see no real advantage. And I'm also looking forward to hearing a different opinion on this.
