So, I meant to send this to the list far, far sooner than now. However, for reasons which I cannot go into and would be completely off topic, my initial sending of this email back on January 20, 2022, was delayed until now.
On January 8, 2022, I finally upgraded my phone from my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra to an iPhone 13 ProMax 256 GB device. The upgrade process went about as smoothly as was expected when going from platform to platform, but that's another email for another day. My main reason for sending this message is to let all list members know that if you upgrade your device and receive one without a physical CIM card, don't just go with the E-SIM option if offered by your carrier. Reason specifically being, if you reset your phone for any reason, your phone plan and all associated information are completely wiped from the device, and even on restoration from iCloud, you still have to contact your carrier, (at least I did with T-Mobile/Sprint), in order to reestablish the E-SIM card. I went to T-Mobile directly and got them to put a physical SIM card into my device, so if I do need to reset my device for any reason, then I can simply get things up and running without the issue of having to deal with calling my carrier to reestablish my E-SIM. I will be posting to the list shortly though on an experience I had with using the Apple-based program to help facilitate moving data from android to IOS. I had an interesting experience with the app, and ultimately wound up doing better than the sales rep at my local T-Mobile store, interesting to say the last considering it wasn't even a voiceover issue he was having. But that is another post for a later time this week.
