In case you are new to the WalkAssist app, it recognizes traffic walk/don't walk signs as well as crosswalks when at intersections.
The developer, a junior in high school, had put the app in a State science fair. She was just informed that she should not have posted it to the app store until after the competition and was asked to take it down. Had she not put it in the app store, she would have gone directly to the National competition. She has now taken down the app. Current users are welcome to continue using it, but no new downloads will be available until after the competition is over in a few weeks. The good news is when it comes back, there will be several updates/improvements. So stay tuned.
