The only effective way to get rid of ads on YouTube is just to subscribe to it. If you use YouTube a lot, the monthly subscription’s the only way to go, and doesn’t cost much more than the ad blocker you may subscribe to. After all, YouTube is a business. So, naturally it depends on advertising.
