You can copy it any way you like, put it on a USB stick an external hard
drive or if you have both computers hooked up together into the same router
you should be able to access the hard drive of the old computer from the new
computer or vice versa.

I suggest after you install iTunes on the new computer to just copy the
entire iTunes Media folder, it is a subfolder in the main iTunes folder
which usually is a subfolder of the Music folder.

After you copied it, open iTunes on the new computer, select "File" and "Add
Folder to Library" then browse to the iTunes Media folder and select it.
This will populate all your libraries (music, apps, books, tones etc.) with
whatever content you have.
