Hi Wren,

You should be able to find precipitation amounts on most of the good weather
sites, I am in Canada and use the official Environment Canada government
website on th computer and on the iPhone I use Degrees which is an app that
also uses the information from Environment Canada.

Their forecast starts with the current conditions (temperature, cloud cover,
humidity, windspeed, felt temperature etc.) Then they give the 7-day
forecast and underneath that they show historical data from the day before
(minimum and maximum temperature as well as the amount of precipitation.

I have just the other posted about a WiFi connected weather station called
Netatmo which consists of an indoor unit which connects to your WiFi and an
outdoor unit/sensor which connects wirelessly to the indoor unit. Currently
the Netatmo station does not include a rainfall sensor/gauge, but I was told
they are planning to add that down the road as well as a windspeed sensor.
Somebody else posted a note today that they also bought the Netatmo weather
station and that the app is accessible as far as reading temperature and
humidity, but a bit cluttered and not accessible for reading minimum and
maximum temperature.

Regards,

Sieghard
